Project Runway Me . .
I have big dreams the big dream is to own an image consulting agency running title “Growth, Style, and Love” =). The other dream is to have a fashion line. Right now due to lack of funds I am trying my hand at making my own clothes and transforming old clothes. If you have been reading this for a little bit you know I had an idea to be Carrie for Halloween. So for the outfit I went I bought this dress.
I found the dress at the thrift store for $4.50. Gotta love the thrift store. Once I ditched the idea of dousing it in red “blood” I decided to transform it into something new. My idea is to turn it into a high waist skirt and dye it. If you can not see it here is a better idea of what it would look like.
So now I just have to think of what color to dye it. I am thinking black or a charcoal grey. I plan on buying the dye today. Initially I wanted to make it a deep purple but after a holiday party this past weekend with over 10 girls in purple I am ditching that thought. I will update you all with the details and how it comes out.

My feelings: It would be an awesome holiday party dress! Someone should have told B that the dresses nude doesn’t match her skin tone though.
Most importantly, it is not cool to sing one of the most religous Christmas songs made in a dress that makes you appear to be naked with glitter on.
Am I taking it too far? Your thoughts?

Ugly Betty’s Seperates Rock!
Ok, on the last couple of episodes of Ugly Betty I’ve been feeling Betty’s clothes. Not the combinations mind you! But if you take a look at each piece that they put on her by themselves sometimes they are kinda hot! Just think about that dress minus all the other things! Holiday part material for sure! Then last night I adored the coat that she had on in the show.
I found it on J Crew. Can’t you just see it with a simple sheath dress in black or turquoise (for the bold) underneath?

Holiday Outfit Ideas
Because it is all about the sparkle . . .
Sadly, it is way too expensive for me to just spend on a tank top that I will only wear to parties. Ladies be always pay attention to your cost per wear!
Dad’s Advice . .
On a very personal note I am not attached and have a hard time finding men who treat me the way I want to be treated. I talk to my Dad about it a lot because I tend to date guys like my Dad. It is not a good thing. Do not get me wrong I am Daddy’s girl and I love my Daddy to death. But my Dad has his traits I can live without (showing up hours late and more) if I am choosing my man. So I go to Dad to try to figure out how to get what I want. His advice is always simple and the same.
You first have to treat yourself the way you want to be treated.
I know people hear this all the time; love yourself first. My Dad says take it to a level more than just your feelings. You have to date yourself. So that I what I have decided to do. Quite literally. I plan on taking myself out, getting pretty just for me, and maybe even buying me gifts =). Now I am terrified of taking myself out but Dad says it is important to learn how to be by yourself. So for my first date I plan on taking myself to the museum.
I adore all visual art so I plan on taking myself to the Art Institute of Chicago for their free Thrusdays night. Yes, free! See I am even a cheap date
